PPT - Configuration and Users Database

Users who are printing should each have a separate configuration file or have a specific printer designated within the users database.

Individual Configuration Files

Individual configuration files ensure that the printing settings will be set the way you want for every printing user. Users will always get the correct printer. Separate configuration files also ensure that non-direct connect users can always print when they want to because no two users will be trying to print using the same MultiBridge 32 transport at the same time.

Users Database

The users database can also ensure that users are getting the correct printer and printer settings, but it has the added advantage of being easier to administer. The list index feature allows you to assign a printer to each individual user. See your MultiBridge documentation for more information about configuring users.

Restricting User Changes

If you do not expect your users to change or even know their own printing options, disable the Allow change in Printing Configuration and Add New Printer Environment settings after setting up the PPT environments for them. This way they will not be able to change the settings for PPT environments you have set up nor will they be able to try to create new ones.
