T27 Configuration File Parameters

Below are the parameters from a configuration file, as they might appear if you were to set them yourself. You can edit this or any other configuration file by hand in a text editor if you want to change configuration settings without using our graphical user interface, although this is not recommended.

Configuration parameters all have default settings that you can assume are set if you do not include them by name in a configuration file. In short, if you don't see a parameter within a configuration file, you can assume that CTCBridge uses the default settings. CTCBridge does not bother to write any default parameters settings in a configuration file. Default settings are also the most common.

Description of Parameter

[PPTEnv 1] through

[PPTEnv 21]

This section contains parameters that control Telnet Printer Pass Through (TPPT).

PemFontSize

10

#

This parameter sets the font size for print jobs. Designated on the Configure Printer Connection window when Page Imaging is enabled.

empty

string

The IP address of the host to which the PPT environment will be connecting. Used for direct connections not through MultiBridge.

PemHostPort

23

integer

The port number on which the host will be listening for PPT environment connections. Used for direct connections not through MultiBridge.

PPTEnvName

empty

string

The user-designated name of a PPT environment displayed in the title bar of the environment.

PPTHIFileClose

empty

SYSTEM VALUES

(Printer Pass Through Host-Initiated File Close) The host can be configured to send a “file close” string with every print job to signal the end of an individual job ready to be sent to the printer. The “file close” value will be listed here. If this is used with the Print Job Timeout Value, whatever value is received first will designate when the print job is sent to the printer (either the timeout will expire or the file close value will be transmitted).

PPTListIndex

0

#

If the value is not zero, then the value of the ListIndex parameter is used as the index into the list of PPT station names in the users database. If these lists do not exist, then the index is ignored. This allows a specific PPT environment to be locked to a specific printer in the users database, so the order in which environments are open does not determine the name. If zero, the printer names are applied in the order the environments are opened.

PPTOpen

F

T/F

Designates whether a configured environment is open (T) or not (F).

PPTOrientation

1

1,2

Determines whether the printed output will be portrait(1) or landscape(2). Specified in the print setup window.

PPTPageImaging

F

T/F

PPTPoolName

empty

any value

The name of the MultiBridge transport pool used for printer stations. Optional.

PPTPort

blank

Local network values

The network location for the printer.

PPTPrinter

PPTTimeout

10

#

The length of time (in seconds) that the printing environment will wait to see if the last piece of the data stream was the final data for the current print job before sending the data to the printer. When used in combination with the Host Initiated File Close String, whatever value is received first will designate when the print job is sent to the printer (either the timeout will expire or the file close value will be transmitted).

PPTType

T27 PPT

T27 PPT

The printer pass-through type. (T27 printer pass-through only offers one type.)

PrintFileName

empty

any value

The path that the print job will follow to be saved as a text file on the client computer.

Removes all DC1 characters from the print job’s data stream before sending it to the printer.

[KeyAssignments]

This section lists translations of keystrokes and keystroke combinations to action codes. Each keystroke and keystroke combination is assigned a number and the number is set equal to the chosen action code and command.

Keystrokes and combinations can be assigned and reassigned to other keystrokes, URLs, scripts, and CTCBridge menu actions through the Assign Keystroke wizard.

There are no default values that will appear in this section. If no translations are listed, then all keystrokes and combinations have their default functionality. The [KeyAssignments] section heading will appear in the .cje file with no contents.

65553=action;Transmit

Examples: “65553” is the Ctrl key. With this translation, pressing the Ctrl key will invoke a transmit to the host.

[Connection Control]

This section of the configuration file is used to interact with other Core Technology products such as Visual Underneath Studio with its filter files and MultiBridge with the users database. When information needs to be stored in this section, the product will produce these parameters itself.

Color Settings

The easiest and best way to set color parameters is through Color Setup on the applet’s Configure menu. Then CTCBridge will create the parameter in the configuration file under an [Env n] with the correct color value. Colors are depicted as negative numbers such as –256 for yellow.

The parameters begin with a designation of what is being colored. These are listed below:

These are followed by a “ForeColor” or “BackColor” designation. “BackColor” determines the background field color. “ForeColor” determines text color.

A complete color parameter will look like this: BlinkForeColor=-256.

In addition, there are two almost identical sets of color parameters: one for a graphical interface, one for a non-graphical interface. The graphical mode colors modify the form described above with the addition of a “TF” at the beginning of the parameter name (e.g. TFReverseBackColor= -000666677).

Windows Button Settings

Windows function buttons are numbered 1 through 20. Each button is assigned a default label and action. These are listed in the chart below. These labels and functions can all be changed through the appropriate configuration parameter.

The WinBtnnLbl parameter controls the label on the button that corresponds to the number (n). The WinBtnnEvt parameter controls what the button, specified by the number, does or activates when it is clicked.

For example, you might want to change the label and action of button #1. Follow the steps below to do this:

  1. In the appropriate configuration file, find the WinBtn1Evt parameter (“Connect” is web button #1).

  2. Change the action command from “action” to “script”.

  3. Change the action “Connect” to the script you will write called Signon.scr.

  4. Finally, change the label on the button through the WinBtnLbl1 parameter. Replace Connect” with “Signon.”

  5. Make sure the script exists in the correct place.

Now, button #1 will say Signon and will perform the actions prescribed in the appropriate script.

You can control how many rows of buttons are presented on the emulator screen through the WinBtns parameter value (0,1,or 2 columns).

    Web Button Settings

Web function buttons have 28 default labels and actions. These are listed in the chart below. To change the action of a web button, find the WebBtnnEvt configuration parameter for the appropriately numbered button. To change a button label, find the appropriate WebBtnnLbl configuration parameter and change the variable following the equals (=) sign.

For example, to change the Erase Display button, “ErsDsp,” from a clear action to a script that signs a user on, perform the following actions:

    1. In the appropriate configuration file, find the WebBtn1Evt parameter (ErsDsp is web button #1).

    2. Change the action command from “action” to “script”.

    3. Change the action “Clear” to the script you will write called Signon.scr.

    4. Finally, change the label on the button through the WebBtn1Lbl parameter. Replace ErsDsp” with “Signon.”
