JPrint is an additional piece of software provided with your MultiBridge and CTCBridge products for your Windows clients. It is not necessary to install JPrint to give your users printing capability. However, it does add some functionality to your users’ printing options. The advantages of installing JPrint include the following:
The screen-printing option, QuickPrint, appears on the File menu. Choosing this item sends the current screen to the default printer without opening any printer setup window.
The PC Printer Setup window remembers the default printer and its page orientation settings instead of always appearing for the user to approve or change the default settings.
There are some potential disadvantages to JPrint as well. It is an installed component for the client. Your users will have to install it onto their hard drives, or you will have to install it for them. You might have to provide support for it if problems arise. And the initial installation of JPrint™ slightly increases the download time for the applet.
The instructions for installing JPrint are located in the user topic Install JPrint.
