Automate Tasks with Macros and Scripts

With administrator permission, you can create and run macros to automate repetitive tasks. However, your administrator can limit you to just running macros already created or disable all facets of macros so that you can neither create nor run them. Only administrators can create scripts but you can run them when you have their names.

Follow the steps below to run a macro or script:

Running Macros

  1. From the Macro menu and the Run Macro submenu, select the title of the macro you want to run.

  2. The macro will run until it is finished or until you select Stop Macro from the Macro menu.

OR

  1. From the Macro menu, select Manage Macros.

  2. Select a macro from the list box, and click [Run].

  3. The macro will run until it is finished or until you select Stop Macro from the Macro menu.

Running Scripts

  1. From the Macro menu, select Run Script.

  2. The Run Script window will open.

  3. Enter the name of the script you want to run plus the extension (usually .scr).

  4. Click [Run]. The script will run until it is finished or until you select Stop Script from the Macro menu.

TIP

If a macro or script has a keystroke or keystroke combination assigned to them, you can run the macro or script by pressing the key or combination on the keyboard.
