Environment Configuration

The Environment Configuration item on the Configure menu allows you to change and/or designate, at the client side, several attributes of the current environment that affects its connection methods. All of this information is saved in the configuration file for this environment.

The Environment Configuration window contains the following options:

Environment Name

Enter a name for the new environment or keep the name that appears in the field. If Use MB Station as Env Name from the General Setup window is enabled, the name of the environment is already designated. Any name change here will be overridden.

Terminal Name

Enter the host connection ID that corresponds to a unique terminal name on your host. Each terminal name on the host must be unique to avoid problems with connections.

MultiBridge Connection

Station

Enter the name of the MultiBridge station through which this environment will connect to MultiBridge.

Pool/Group Name

Enter a MultiBridge pool or group name through which this environment will connect to the host.

Users.mbf List Index

Enter the designating number of the host terminal ID, or station listed in the users database file that you want this environment to connect through. Otherwise, a host terminal ID, or station will be selected from the list in progression. The administrator will most likely designate this.

Automatic Sign Off Message

Enter a text string that the host will recognize as a sign off command. This prevents the host keeping stations open after a connection is irregularly broken because the host does not know the user has exited. The administrator will most likely designate this.

Direct Connection to Host

Host IP

Enter the IP address of the host to which you want to connect.

Host Port

Enter the port number through which CTCBridge will connect to the host. The default for a T27 terminal is 23.

Host Type

Select the type of host to which this environment will be connecting.
